FOUR JAMAICANS will be in action at today's Malmo AI Galan, Folksam Grand Prix Round three Athletics Meeting in Sweden.

National 100m champion Asafa Powell will line up in the sprint, Germaine Mason, who on Saturday increased his national high jump record to 2.34 to win gold at the Pan American Games, former 400m champion Sandie Richards will contest her pet event, while the fourth Jamaican, Vonette Dixon face the starters in the sprint hurdles.

Meanwhile, in action from Sunday, former National sprint double champion Dwight Thomas warned-up for the World Athletics Championships in Paris when he won the 100 metres at the Mal Cup IAAF International Meeting in Szombathely, Hungary.

Thomas, a member of Jamaica's last World Championships party won in 10.35 seconds to beat Bobby Williams of USA (10.38) and Great Britain's Dwayne Grant (10.53).

This was Thomas' second victory in two weeks, despite not running a fast time, he won the 100m at the North Down International Games in Bangor, Nigeria at the start of the month.

Elsewhere, at the Gran Premio Reebok Ciudad de San Sebastian Meet in San Sebastian, Spain, Michael McDonald and his sister Beverly, along with Ronetta Smith and Sandie Richards came away with mixed results.

Smith, 23, who has been doing well on the international circuit this season, but mostly with minor placing finished second in the 400m in 52.18 behind Nigeria's Olabisi Afolabi in 50.91. Another Jamaican in the race, 34-year-old veteran quarter miler Richards, returning from injury finished third in 52.39.

In the 100m, Beverly McDonald had to settle for third in 11.44, this was behind Anzhela Kravchenko of Ukraine, who won in 11.23 and Nigerian Endurance Ojokolo, 11.37.

McDonald continued his disappointing season by finishing fifth in the men's 400m. The event was won by Ezra Sambu of Kenya (45.24) ahead of Gary Kikaya of Democratic Republic of Congo (45.47) and Tim Benjamin of Great Britain (45.79).
