Reuniting old students of J'can schools

THE EDITOR, Sir: I WISH to take this opportunity to introduce Jamaica Friends to you. Jamaica Friends is a Web site hosted at http://www.jamaicafriends.com. I personally developed and launched the site in July 2002 for the purpose of reuniting old students of Jamaican schools. The Web site has a database of over 1,300 schools ranging from kindergarten all the way through to university. The site is completely free and members may add themselves to the schools they attended and contact other listed members. The Web site also sends out automatic e-mail alerts informing existing subscribers of new members who have just joined their schools. This has proved to be a very popular feature going from feedback we have received. In addition to this, each listed school has an album and a memory board where members may share memories of their old schools. The site also features a monthly poll as well as a general forum where members can engage in discussions on topics of interest. I am, etc., ISO BASSEY iso_bassey@yahoo.com
