THE JAMAICA Library Service (JLS) will, for the 16th time this summer, renew the rivalry, camaraderie and excitement of the National Reading Competition.
The national finals, which get underway later this month, will feature the 13 parish champions of the 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 categories respectively.
Introduced by the JLS in 1988 as part of its 40th anniversary celebration activities, "the National Reading Competition has been a resounding success," said Grace Alexander, JLS' public relations officer.
Today, The Gleaner presents the first in a series of profiles on the parish champion in the respective categories.
