LUCAS, KINGSTON and Melbourne secured their semi-final places alongside early qualifiers JDF as the Capital & Credit/Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) All Island limited-over preliminary competition ended yesterday.

Lucas, who will host Kingston in this weekend's semi-final, defeated St. Catherine CC by seven wickets at Chedwin Park while Kingston beat Boys' Town at Nelson Oval.

At Manchester High: Due to a late start for which home team Manchester was penalised 13 overs for and another two because another stoppage reached 162 for eight off their 35 overs. (Gary Graham, 32, and Chacon Chambers, 26, made most runs against Leon Bent 4-24 and Roman Hutchinson 3-46). Melbourne did not get to start their reply.

Portland, who entered yesterday's final round with failed to advance despite beating St. Elizabeth at Folly. This was due to the fact that leaders Lucas beat St. Catherine CC to take Group C.
