A THREE-YEAR-OLD infant was the sole fatality in a motor vehicle accident on the Tower Isle main road, St. Mary, on Monday in which three other persons were injured.
The dead infant has been identified as Javardo Sicard of Mango Valley, St. Mary. The injured have been identified as Sarah Carter, 49, the mother of the infant; Diane Wynter, 27; and Desmond Tracey, 37 all of the same address.
A report from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said that Carter and Wynter were passengers in motor car registered 9109 EA driven by Lenroy Newby about 6:00 p.m. when, on reaching a section of the road, the car collided with a Toyota pick-up, registered 5645 DP, driven by Lloyd Blagrove with Tracey aboard.
As a result of the injuries sustained from the impact, the infant died instantly while the others were taken to the St. Ann's Bay Hospital where they were admitted. Their conditions were not stated. Investigations are continuing, the police said.
