For J'can visas

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing in support of the suggestion made by Calbert Graham in Wednesday's Gleaner. I do believe that we should consider a visa requirement for entry to Jamaica. This initiative would generate income, which is much needed, for the country.

If managed well, it will also assist in monitoring fugitives who come to Jamaica to "hide" because we do not monitor the visitors that come into our country.

Of course, this will initially be costly - implementing the new system, training staff etc. - but in the long term would be beneficial.
