Don't split the team
published: Friday | September 5, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT HAS been brought to the attention of the commuters of the route 43/1 conducted by Ms. Nellie Smith and driven by Mr. Keith Brown, who are both stationed at the Spanish Town Depot, that they (authorities) are planning to assign them to another route.

The commuters who take this route on a daily basis are requesting that this action not be taken. We strongly respect Ms. Smith for her kind smile and courteous behaviour towards the passengers of this route. We respect Mr. Keith Brown for his on-time service and smile as we get off with our "Thank yous" and "Goodbyes", however, we are kindly pleading that the transport authorities do not change them, we cannot find a more committed and perfect work team than what these two have accomplished and we the commuters can say that we trust them. There are times when we would wait on the bus just so we could have that kind of service.

Please do not change or replace them, instead try and get more conductresses, conductors and drivers with a courteous attitude like this team.

Representing the people who take this route on a day-to-day basis, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to Mr. Keith Brown and Ms. Nellie Smith for their wonderful service and teamwork. Thank you too, JUTC, for this team.

I am, etc.

SWEETS LAWRENCE
