THE EDITOR, Sir:

I ENJOY reading The Gleaner whenever I get the chance. It has been quite a few years since I visited your wonderful country but the people and landscapes of Jamaica are always in my thoughts and I look forward to the day I can visit again.

The reason I am writing is this... I have noticed quite a few articles recently on the need in Jamaica for new schools and for upgrading existing schools. Are there any programmes available for people who would like to help either financially or by organising a workforce to get some of these projects completed?

If there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction in finding such an organisation, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am also thinking of starting a non-profit group for raising money and distributing it to Jamaica's education programmes so these schools can be built. Is this idea feasible?

I welcome a response from anyone, hopefully there is someone out there with some information on what I need to do to help.

I am etc.,

DAVID COE
