Letter of the day - Welcome Corporal Fraser and thank you!
published: Sunday | September 14, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE NEWLY-FORMED Taxi Association wants to extend a long-deserved welcome and thank you to Corporal Fraser of the Spaldings Police Station.

Corporal Fraser has succeeded in doing what few police officers have ever tried to do and will try to do. Simply put, he has come to a town where chaos was the order of the day and where indiscipline was far too prevalent. And with a diplomatic and consultative approach he has revolutionised the thinking and conduct of taxi drivers and the police/taxi men relationship of Spaldings.

In fact, gratitude must be expressed to him and the Spaldings Citizens' Asso-ciation for the effort they have made in getting us to meet and organise ourselves into an association.

Since his coming less than a year ago he has helped us to have several meetings and we have since planned to meet every first Thursday of each month at the Spalding Primary School.

His intervention and the forming of the Taxi Association has seen a reduction in reckless driving on the streets of Spaldings sespecially on the road leading to the high schools.

Welcome Corporal Fraser and thank you!

I am, etc.,

DWHANE 'BOBBY' JOHNSON

Chairman

Spaldings Taxi Association
