Poor but determined
published: Wednesday | September 17, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

CONGRATULATIONS TO Mrs. Gladys-Beason Hyatt on the Governor Genaral's Award she received recently. She is my schoolmate although she may not remember me (Madge Robotham). I am extremely proud of her. Being poor does not prevent one from achieving one's goal if you have that desire and determination.

I, too came from a poor family (one parent my mother) but that did not stop me from becoming a teacher myself. Congratulations again! Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I am, etc.,

MARJORITA ROBOTHAM-

WHYTE (MADGE)
