THE UNBEATEN filly PRINCESS CHIONESO made all impressively to land the Titania Trophy co-feature over 1100 metres for native bred three-year-olds at Caymanas Park yesterday.

Despite her easy victory over the round five course in maiden company on her August 23 debut, PRINCESS CHIONESO was somewhat neglected in the betting at 7-1, but left the gates like a bullet and proceeded to run her nine opponents into the ground.

Ridden by lightweight jockey Robert Reid for owner/trainer Kenrick A. McIntosh, the Law Of The Sea - Quick Burst offspring won by three lengths from 8-5 favourite OK MOM, ridden by apprentice Dane Nelson who is a nephew of the winning jockey.

After turning for home some two lengths clear of OK MOM (chased) and LADY SHAKEERA in third, PRINCESS CHIONESO responded to a bustling hand ride to win in the smart time of 1:06.2 (23.2, 46.3) which compares favourably with the 1:06.1 returned by another 'Princess', upset winner MILLENIUM PRINCESS in the third race for overnight allowance horses over the distance.

Reid, who got a flying start, said that was the key to winning as PRINCESS CHIONESO proceeded to show rivals a clear pair of heels.

"She was travelling so sweetly entering the straight, that I knew they would not get back to her", said the veteran jockey. "She's a nice filly with lots of scope and I predict that she will continue to do well for her trainer", he added.

Earlier in the afternoon, CANTRA LIBRE from the stables of many-time champion trainer Kenneth Mattis, won the day's supporting feature for the Winnie Anglin Memorial Cup by 3 1/2 lengths, this confined to native bred two-year-old maiden fillies.

Her job was made a lot easier following the late withdrawal of the howling 1-5 favourite TOTAL MOTION, who bolted minus jockey Trevor Simpson while being loaded into the starting gates and completed a circuit of the track.

With the Wayne DaCosta-trained TOTAL MOTION declared a late non-starter, it was left to substitute favourite CANTRA LIBRE (3-5) to chase the DaCosta-trained MEDAL OF HONOUR (2-1) in the field of five. Both turned for home on level terms but CANTRA LIBRE, under former champion apprentice Kenyatta Davis, soon disposed of the leader to win convincingly from the late closing debutante HENRIETTA MARIA who got up in time to relegate MEDAL OF HONOUR to third.

A dark bay filly by Kammtarra out of Calypso Music, CANTRA LIBRE who was racing for the second time, is owned by Mattis and bred by the Lakeland Farms and Phillip Feanny.

The closing 3-y-o maiden race for the Meadowvale Citizen Association Trophy resulted in a bang up finish involving three horses. However, it was 11-1 shot MAMA'S GIRL with Dane Nelson riding for owner/trainer Lincoln Glane who was adjudged in the winner in a tight photo finish, ahead of the 60-1 outsider TRYUBESS and the favourite MAMBO. All three closed rapidly in the last furlong to relegate tearaway leader BLAZING BULLET.

Unlike last Wednesday when eight favourites obliged including seven odds on, yesterday proved a nightmare for form players. The 10-race programme produced only one winning favourites in CANTA LIBRE, while the Anthony Nunes-trained MILLENIUM PRINCESS (23-1) with Shane Ellis up, MAMA'S GIRL and bold front runner DIGITAL (6-1), one of two winners for champion jockey Trevor Simpson, provided the upsets.
