LONDON, CMC:

IN FORM Jamaican Reggae Boyz Ricardo Fuller and Onandi Lowe led a cluster of Caribbean scorers in the English football on Saturday evening.

Fuller's goal for Preston North End helped them to a 4-1 win over Rotherham, who got their goal from another Jamaica international, Darren Byfield.

Lowe scored for Rushden & Diamonds in a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth, while Trinidad and Tobago's Dennis Lawrence and Jamaica internationals Kevin Lisbie and Richard Langley also made the scoring headlines.

At Villa Park, Turkey's Ozalan Alpay and Jlloyd Samuel netted for the home side to defeat Charlton Athletic, who got an 85th minute goal from substitute Lisbie in the premier league match.

DISMISSED

In a First Division game at Deepdale that was locked at 1-1 at the half, Preston changed gears in the second half and dismissed Rotherham handsomely.

In the 10th minute, Richard Cresswell finished a play that was started on the right by Fuller, flicking a pass in to Michael Keane, who then laid on to Cresswell.

Byfield, who represented Jamaica in this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup, found the equaliser for Rotherham just before half time.

But Preston's three-goal second-half blitz settled the game.

Fuller pumped in a close-range effort from rebound in the 55th minute, before Graham Alexander (64th) and Brian O'Neil (72nd) added other strikes.

At Bramall Lane Ground, Langley sent Cardiff into a 3-2 lead midway the second half before Sheffield United shot past them to win 5-3.

Langley's goal was a spectacular 30-yard free-kick.

In Division Two, Lowe headed in a second minute goal for Rushden and Diamonds, but Bournemouth clinched victory with a second-half double from Warren Feeney.

And at Racecourse Ground, Wrexham ended their three-match goal-scoring drought and ended 2-2 with Plymouth.

The tall Lawrence headed Darren Ferguson's pinpoint corner in, but Plymouth equalised shortly after with David Norris scoring with a deflected shot.

Lee Jones (Wrexham) and David Norris (Plymouth) got the game's other goals.
