By Paul-Andre Walker, Staff ReporterHARBOUR VIEW Mini Stadium was the venue of a routing which saw the Stars of the East thrashing Seba United 4-1 in Wray & Nephew National Premier League action yesterday.
Seba have not had a win since their 4-0 defeat of stalwarts Arnett Gardens and were hoping to change things around in their away fixture. They started quite positively and looked as if they would open the Harbour View defence at any moment with the midfield combination of Michael Thomas and Damian Williams looking increasingly dangerous.
This was all in the first 15 minutes and Harbour View had not yet settled.
When they did start playing their passes were more incisive and their attacks more sharp and purposeful. Harbour View's coach, Donovan Hayles said: "At half time I had to be rational and point out to the team that the only problem that we had was that we weren't scoring."
In the 50th minute a beautiful pass out wide by Harbour View's Jermaine Hue saw national left back Robert Scarlett running on to score his first goal of the season, slotting the ball into the far corner of the goal from a tight angle.
The score went to 2-0 in the 60th minute when Clifton Waugh played a brilliant diagonal ball to find Luton Shelton who, from a similar position to Scarlett, slammed the ball past Seba's Alrick Henry at his near post.
A short corner in the 80th minute resulted in a Daniel Shaw bomb from 25 yards away, making the score 3-0.
The fourth goal of the half came in the 85th minute when Dino Williams latched on to Jomo Gordon's cross and scored.
Seba showed great resilience and scored when Jermaine Anderson slammed home a penalty, ending the game at 4-1.
Seba's coach Everton Tomlinson said: "We were beaten 4-1 but I don't think we played badly. We entertained the crowd with an exciting game and we were competitive, despite the scoreline."
