Ferry for the Forum
published: Friday | October 3, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE just read the letter 'What's up with the Forum' so I am writing a letter which has been in my hands for the last 30 years.

I did a holiday job with Caribbean Construction Co., the builders of the Forum Hotel, in 1971. My understanding was that 'Kingston Beach' as it was then called, was to have been the airport hotel. Two causeways would grace the harbour. The first was built and 'the fish dead'. So for environmental reasons the second, from the airport to 'wherever', (somewhere near the Forum), was a no no.

My brain says, "Den is only road can cross water? Boat can't cross water?" All we need is a ferry and the Forum will be a first class airport hotel.

I am, etc.,
