Illegal arms imports

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Developing countries are held responsible for the drugs that are entering the markets of Europe and North America. It has been determined that it is our responsibility to stem the flow. Surely the same theory could be applied to the weapons arriving in underdeveloped countries.

We could hold for ransom ships on which they arrive. Quid pro quo, nice thought, but that is as far as we can take it.
