Stop the criminals now
published: Thursday | October 9, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

CONGRATULATIONS TO The Gleaner on your 169th birthday.

What is really wrong why we are having so much senseless killings and yet the government refuses to send out the army to help? Maybe because we have a section of the society which is against the army on the street because it doesn't mind the crime and violence.

Imagine eight police have died by the gun since the year. And I heard on the news just a few days ago that Det. Sgt. Brown-Campbell who just graduated from law school the Saturday before was stabbed and seriously wounded by some heartless criminal.

Come on, the powers that be, something must be done, and I mean right now. And I wish Det. Sgt. Brown-Campbell a very speedy recovery.

I am, etc.,

EDDIE DOBSON
