Why parents must help in education
THE EDITOR, Sir: AS A young teacher with just over six years teaching experience, I have come to face the grim reality that unless parents become actively involved in their children's education...

'No reward to NTCS for shoddy work'
THE EDITOR, Sir: THERE'S NO way that NTCS should be paid one red cent. They were the first to breach any contract they had with the Government by not providing a safe, noise-free and on-time transportation system, fit for humans to travel on.

'Halt lease of Winnifred Beach'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ in The Gleaner, to my dismay, that the Portland Parish Council has applied to the UDC to approve a Sandals resort at Winnifred Beach.

Enlightening and liberating work
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE ALLOW me to express a short supportive review of the novel 'Paint The Town Red!'

Support for western regional CofC
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM wholeheartedly supporting the call for a western regional Chamber of Commerce. At the very least, it should strengthen their bargaining position.

Thank you, Grand Lido Negril
THE EDITOR, Sir: PLEASE ALLOW me space in your newspaper to give a very big thank you to Grand Lido Negril.

Lack of respect and bad example
THE EDITOR, Sir: LAST WEEK I was stopped at the traffic lights at the junction of Tom Redcam Road and South Camp Road, in the right hand lane waiting to proceed down Marescaux Road, when I heard the siren of a police motorcyclist.

Brassieres and breast cancer
THE EDITOR, Sir: AFTER READING the letter "Bras and breast cancer" by K.W. Willacey I cannot help wondering if the author did some research on the subject or his/her ideas are just mere speculations.

Not the right way, Rev Gordon
THE EDITOR, Sir: KINDLY ALLOW me space to respond to Rev. Gordon's statement Re: Teach your young people to be more tolerant towards gays and lesbians.

Buggery law
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE ISSUE of repealing the buggery law must be given a lot of thought and must be debated widely. This in not just an issue for the government and clergy but all levels of society.
