THE ST. ELIZABETH Football Association received a shot in the arm yesterday when Senator Kern Spencer announced a $230,000 sponsorship for the parish's knockout competition.
It is set to kick off on Sunday with all teams in action, except Black River who drew a bye, and will be played on a home-and-away basis. Each competing team will receive two match balls, while the finalists will get outfits.
The champions will pocket $60,000 and a trophy while the second-place team will receive $30,000.
Teams down to take part in this year's knockout are Super Action, Holland Police Youth Club, Vineyard Youth Club, Slipe All Stars, New River United, Knoxwood Youth Club, defending champions Foster Youths, Epping Forest, Siloah Police Youth Club, Middlesex Police Youth Club, Haughton United, Brunt Ground Kickers, Leeds United, Thornton Community Football Club, Tafari Lions, Central Park Sports Club, Middle Quarters Police Youth Club, Burton Youth Club and Black River United.
