THE EDITOR SIR,
I WRITE to express the deep sense of gratitude and enjoyment I get from reading the articles published in the 'Mind And Spirit'/'Focus' columns of The Gleaner. Specifically, the articles on faith, the history and work of the church missionaries in Jamaica are so informative and enlightening.
The work of Father Ho Lung and the Missionaries of the Poor is outstanding, to say the least. In future publications on "Missionaries of the Poor" would you include their web site address or whatever contact information they may have. They certainly deserve our financial support, their work embodies what true Christian ministry is all about, according to the challenge Jesus gave in the gospel according to Matthew, chapter 25:35-46. "I was hungry and you gave me meat, thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. For as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me."
I am etc.,
