Disgraceful transportation service
published: Tuesday | October 21, 2003

THE EDITOR: Sir

IT IS with consternation I read of the arbitration award of $12 billion or some range between $7-$12 billion for the former operators of the transportation system.

What was foisted on this society in the guise of a transport system was abominable. Surely the National Transport Co-operative breached the contract with the disgraceful service they provided. It was never on time, never clean, never conducive to good order always vulgar, extremely noisy and risked the life and limb of every passenger on every trip. There was not one redeeming feature.

Should my government spend my taxes to settle with the group who perpetrated this farce for a transport system on my country? I will seek a redress at the appropriate time and in the appropriate forum.

I am, etc.,

RONALD G. MASON
