Bus award should be overturned
published: Tuesday | October 21, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE RECENT decision by the arbitration panel to award $12 billion (including interest) to the Ezroy Milwood-led NTCS is not correct. While they may feel there is a legal right to award the money to NTCS it is certainly not morally right. Everyone who experienced the treatment of the old bus system is appalled by this decision.

The people of Jamaica suffered much under the old bus system; they should not be required to suffer again by paying this award. However in the future we would request the government to be more careful in drafting contracts with third parties.

I am, etc.,

FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
