Ja's women leaving our men behind
published: Friday | October 24, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

What is happening to our men? Are they leaving the island, gone to prison, or dying. Why are they not interested in gaining a higher education but the women are the ones doing so.

Maybe it's the get-rich mentality, too much partying, drugs, fast cars and sex, to name a few, why our men do not place much emphasis on gaining a higher education.

We men also tend to lose our concentration easily with the distraction of the opposite sex, especially at university with the female population being so high. The women are stopping at nothing in qualifying themselves. They outnumber the men at the university level, get better passes, even in the corporate world, dominated by the men, women have made great strides.

Women today are looking for partners who are educated like themselves, so as my mother always says no matter what you are doing ensure you have an education.

I am, etc.,
