Trying to locate family links
published: Tuesday | October 28, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN, OR around, 1891, my great-grandfather, Frederick Walter Couch emigrated to Jamaica from Cornwall in England. He soon married Ida Da Costa and went on to have a family with her. Frederick was a tailor, and I understand that he opened a business with a partner in Kingston.

I am a keen family historian, and would be most grateful if any readers of The Gleaner could pass on any form of information - even if it is simply stories and anecdotes - about my family links to Jamaica. Many thanks.

I am, etc.,

MALCOLM COUCH
