Jamaica is a wonderful place

THE EDITOR, Sir:
WITH THE recent talks about national emergency and Jamaica's high crime rate, I am a Jamaican who still thinks Jamaica is a wonderful place, unique and always beautiful. Violence is everywhere; people die daily all over the world from violent crimes, (Jamaica is not the worst).
Jamaica is constantly being watched, our brilliance is evident in many areas including sports and entertainment so we should show of our best and not let violence overshadow our true ways because Jamaica is a great nation, our problems are not the worst, but if we wish to overcome them we need to play our part and do so responsibly.
I am, etc.,
