Lowest postal ebb in history
published: Tuesday | October 28, 2003
THE EDITOR, Sir:
SEVERAL YEARS ago, the Hon. Phillip Paulwell, the Minister of the Government under whose portfolio post offices fall, stated that within a few months a letter posted at any post office in the island would be received at the office to which it was directed the very same day.
At the present time it takes several days, or even months sometimes for letters to go from one post office to the other, irrespective of proximity. Indeed, the service being rendered throughout the island by the post offices is at is lowest ebb in the island's history. Something needs to be done with the utmost expedition to restore the post offices even to the standard where they were before they were placed under the management of the Hon. Mr. Paulwell.
