More needs to be done to the JCF

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I BELIEVE that the JCF Police Academy does a credible job overall, in training its recruits. However, like most professions, what is learnt in the classroom and on the field is not necessarily practised in the real world.
What makes a policeman's job unique is that when he/she does not perform in a professionally sound manner it can end up in an innocent life being taken. This is particularly true for JCF members who serve on frontline duty. Therefore, it is imperative that because of the nature of a policeman's job, he should never allow himself to succumb to behaviour unbecoming an officer of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
