published: Monday | November 3, 2003

Opposition Senator Bruce Golding has served notice that he intends to ask Burchell Whiteman, Leader of Government Business in the Senate, the following questions:

Will the Minister confirm that between 1998 and 2003 the Bank of Jamaica spent in excess of $40 million to purchase, refurbish, furnish, maintain and secure an official residence for the Governor of the Bank?

What is the net loss to the Bank arising from the recent sale of the residence?

Will the Minister state the reason why the Governor failed to occupy the official residence?

Will the Minister provide details of the amounts spent between 1998 and 2003 by the Bank of Jamaica for the lease, furnishing, repair or refurbishing, maintenance, security and staffing of the private residence of the Governor of the Bank?
