NTCS buses not a problem
published: Friday | November 7, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM responding to an article in The Gleaner dated Monday, October 27, 2003, 'JUTC vs. NTCS at Half-Way Tree Bus Bay'. As a worker of the NTCS, I strongly believe that the opinion of the writer is incorrect. One should really get their facts straight before coming to any conclusion.

I would like to point out: 1) All NTCS buses have to park properly to be dispatched. There are illegal NTCS buses that come in the bus bay at nights, loading their buses and 2) the NTCS bus fare is $60, while JUTC is $40.

Therefore, there is no reason why NTCS buses should prevent JUTC buses from loading in Half-Way Tree. The illegal buses are the ones that are charging $40 and $30; also they are the ones that prevent them from getting proper parking spaces. The public should know by now that all Executive buses are buses that are numbered and carry the NTCS sign. Therefore, not every bus in Half-Way Tree that have the colours blue and white are Executive buses.

NTCS workers are a group of trained, disciplined, courteous and intelligent people. Mr. Ezroy Millwood, our CEO, is a disciplined person. He is our role model. Therefore, at all times we have to strive for excellence.

One last reminder: we do not use 'Ducta' on our buses. Our crews are always properly attired in our uniforms. We have hosts and hostesses.

I am, etc.,

MARCIA PATTERSON
