Tivoli's Carlton Kenton goes up for an easy lay-up ahead of St. Thomas Technical's Clayon McTaggart in the ISSA/KFC schoolboy basketball Under-19 competition at the Stadium courts yesterday. The game had to be abandoned because of rain with Tivoli leading 67-5. - Ian Allen/Staff Photographer THE ISSA/KFC schoolboy basketball competition continued yesterday with six games in the Southern Conference.
In the Under-16 category, Tivoli slammed Seaforth 108-0, Wolmer's beat St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) 53-20 and St. Catherine got the better of Jamaica College 40-31.
Only one game was played to completion in the Under-19 category with STATHS defeating Wolmer's 53-42. The Norman Manley and Clan Carthy encounter along with the Tivoli and St. Thomas Technical game had to be blown off in the fourth quarter because of rain.
Tivoli had a huge 67-5 lead at the time the game was abandoned. St. Thomas, with shorter players, played themselves out of the game with a number of poor passes which led to turnovers.
In the second rained-out game, Clan Carthy had a 34-27 advantage over Norman Manley and, unlike the previous game, this one seemed like it could have gone down to the last minute.
In the Central Conference, Old Harbour High thrashed Central High 59-22 and Glenmuir drubbed Vere Technical 76-27.
