Junior Tucker - File "It (the album)
really speaks where I am at as a Christian... It is really a call to the believers, Christians, to get to that point."
IT IS finished. Junior Tucker's third gospel album, entitled Sold Out Worship From The Islands 1 is slated to hit the shelves in the second week in December. Tucker, who has been saved for six years, told The Gleaner that the praise and worship styled album is volume one of the Worship From The Islands series. He says he plans to release about three albums under the banner, but only time will tell if more will be added to that figure.
The former child prodigy added that the album has a stamp of approval - made in Jamaica - that will appeal to persons who love the authentic island sound. "It is a praise and worship album. It has original praise and worship songs done in Jamaican reggae style," reasoned Tucker. This is his 12th album overall.
PREPARATION
He said this musical serving took him about a year to prepare and it is a mirror of where he is in his spiritual pilgrimage.
"It (the album) really speaks where I am at as a Christian... It is really a call to the believers, Christians, to get to that point where they are sold out for His purpose. A call to get up off the bench and go out and preach the gospel," declared Tucker.
The former Trench Town resident said this album is the best offering to date. "I don't think, I know for a fact that this is my best album. I mean, if I am growing in God you should get a better album," Tucker stated.
Currently the Kingston College 'old boy' still resides in Clewifton, Florida, but he has not burnt the road map with directions to back home. "It is a possibility, but it is not time yet. I am just walking with the God and see where he leads me. My heart is here in Jamaica, but I can't say conclusively," Junior Tucker said.
SPIRITUAL THINGS
However, he highlighted that since he has made Florida his home, God has been preparing him and feeding his mind with spiritual things. "It has really been a time of preparation and learning... I have been singing, preaching and preparing for the ministry," he said.
Tucker revealed that while he is not absolutely sure, he is getting a hunch that God has placed a pastoral call on his life. "I am sensing and feeling that He is shaping me in that way. I thought it was just about sing-ing, but I have realised that it is more than that," Tucker said.
The singer was scheduled to leave the island yesterday.
Tucker parted by pleading with the fans not to support blood-sucking pirates. "Go out and buy the album. Don't support piracy, because that kills a ministry that God has called," he implored.
