Skills Jamaica 2003 opens

At left, some of the competitors participating in the Skills Jamaica 2003 competition, gathered at the National Indoor Sports Centre on Friday. The event is the first of its kind in the Caribbean and will see participants competing in a culinary arts competition among others.

At right, two members of the Wolmer's dance troupe unveil the Caribbean Association of National Agencies (CANTA) logo at the launch of Skills Jamaica at the National Indoor Sports Centre at the Independence Park Complex on Thursday. The CANTA agreement was signed by Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
