
DR. RALPH Thompson, a retired business executive, who recently turned the spotlight on the performance of Jamaican students in the CXC examinations, will deliver a public lecture this Tuesday at Northern Caribbean University (NCU), Mandeville, Manchester on the topic 'Positioning Education as Jamaica's Major Economic Development Tool'.
Dr. Thompson, a member of the National Council on Education, will be joined by Dr. Teran Milford, Dean of the College of Teacher Education and Behavioural Sciences at Northern Caribbean University; Ruben Gray, director of Region Five of the Ministry of Education, Youth & Culture; and Trevor Brown, Principal of Belair High School in Mandeville.
The public lecture, organised by the W.D. Carter Library of Economic Development at the Mandeville-based university, commences at 5:30 p.m. in the Solomon Harriott Lecture Theatre.
