Junior docs title to change
published: Wednesday | December 3, 2003

JUNIOR DOCTORS have voted to change the name of their association to the Jamaica Medical Doctors' Association (JMDA).

"We believe this will help to address many of the public misconceptions about the association," said president Dr. Patrick Topping, "namely that the association is comprised primarily of interns or recent graduates, when in fact, many senior experienced and qualified doctors are members of the association."

The name change was agreed to on October 5 at the association's annual general meeting.
