Jamaica Gleaner Letters

The value of fair competition
THE EDITOR, Sir: OVER THE years it has been normal for local manufacturers or local players to grapple in the face of competition. Our lottery industry did and now it's the players in the cement industry.

Rescue the youth now!
THE EDITOR, Sir: WANT TO reduce crime and violence? Want to improve our economic fortunes? Then, RESCUE THE YOUTH NOW! So many of our youth can be seen on the street corners every day, literally dying for something to do.

Homosexuality
THE EDITOR, Sir: WE KNEW Peter Espeut, first as a Gleaner columnist, later as a personal friend.

Stun guns for animals
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE MANDEVILLE abattoir is a chamber of horrors for animals. Animals are bludgeoned on the head and their throats are slit because of a lack of stun guns.

Concerns about Info Act
THE EDITOR, Sir: IF I may, I'd like to once again make a few observations in relation to the Access to Information Act.

Nervous about JLP
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM deeply saddened and disappointed to read Audley Shaw's statements on constitutional reforms.

Jamaicans and tourism
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE JAMAICAN community abroad and at home is an important and largely untapped market in the tourism sector.

Political agenda
THE EDITOR, Sir: I REALLY wonder what aspirants to political power in political parties agendas are, having secured that power they craved for.

Internal party campaigning
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT WAS most alarming when it was revealed the amount of money spent on internal party campaigning for one candidate in the JLP deputy leader contest.
