Christians do not need magic
published: Friday | December 5, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. ANDRE Kolé has offered Rev. Dr. Donald Stewart US$1 million to prove that Satan gives supernatural powers. Mr. Kole, of course, should recognise that Rev. Stewart is in the business of establishing the power and authority of Jesus Christ over Satan, not proving the power of Satan. I am sure Rev. Stewart will have no desire to attempt to rise to Mr. Kole's challenge, simply because it goes against his mandate and mission to promote God's power.

Besides, Satan has enough capable people, whom Mr. Kole would not dare to challenge. Mr Kole will therefore keep his money, and the Reverend will leave such challenges to persons who are in that business.

Preaching 'Christ, and Him crucified' with demonstration of the power of God to do miracles of healing, casting out of demons, etc., will win souls for Christ. We, the church, should not have to resort to magic, or even illusions, for the Church has been given the real thing.

I am, etc.,
