Sangster's airport disregarded

THE EDITOR, Sir:ACCORDING TO the Airports Authority of Jamaica (AAJ), this week is being celebrated as "Aviation Week". How can the authority celebrate Aviation Week yet blatantly ignore the airport which brings in the majority of passengers to the island. Nowhere in the authority's full page ad announcing the celebrations, was there even a mention of the Sangster's International Airport, located in the 'tourism capital'.
I am very disappointed that the authority has totally disregarded the contribution of all those workers involved in aviation daily, but happen to work at the other end of the island. I cannot speak on their behalf but I am sure they too wanted to at least be invited to "Come celebrate 100 years of flight".
Yes ...the Sangster's International has been leased to MBJ Airports Limited but does that exclude the airport, its employees and those of us who live in the Western end of the island from participation. I think not!
Will someone please explain!
I am, etc.,
