Finding a good lawyer
published: Saturday | December 6, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I NEED help with a serious problem. I don't know how to find out the reputation of a lawyer before I use his/her services. I only know what I hear, and that is not good. What I hear is that the fraud police do not have time for smaller cases, and that the disciplinary council has many complaints about lawyers. There are more stories about banks and lawyers, but I can't prove this and your paper would not print these stories.

I don't know if these stories are true, but since money for sale of land must go to the lawyer first, I would like to know where one could find the Law Council, because they are not in the directory, so I can't get a record of lawyers that I can trust.

I am, etc.,

SELVIN McLEOD
