Blatant injustice
published: Saturday | December 6, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

INJUSTICE IS so blatant in our country. On Friday December 5, 2003, I was listening to a popular talk show. The discussion was about teachers who were overpaid some seven years ago. These teachers who have since retired, are being asked to repay the portion that was considered the excess.

Now, Mr. Editor, this just could not happen in any private sector organisation. This is an error the Ministry will just have to live with.

Why don't we ask those in politics who have not made any error, but have blatantly stolen millions of dollars from our governments, to face up to their wrongs so all can see the justice! These teachers have worked honestly for their salary and the error was not theirs.

Let's start where we need to start and the rest will follow suit.

I am, etc.,

CLAUDETTE DAVIS
