Fashion at Jacuzzi House Party

AT LEAST one aspect of the 'Jacuzzi House Party and Sneak Peak Fashion Show' lived up to its name last Saturday.

It was an obvious sneak peak at the fashion which could hardly be seen in the dimly-lit venue. In terms of the jacuzzi, though present, it was not operational. The show could not be called a real party as there was not much to see and do after the brief fashion segment which lasted about 30 minutes.

The fashion show was held at Clinton Smith's house, CEO of Finesse Model Agency, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The clothing line on display, called Imeje Wear, seemed to consist of mostly female attire. Smith, who is also the designer, explained that Imeje Wear was conceptualised to 'show the shapes and curves of black women' that it did.

Sportswear, swimwear and lingerie were on show. There were jeans short shorts and micro-minis, two-piece bikinis in various prints, black mesh tops and shorts which looked like both lingerie and swimwear.

SOLE MALE MODEL

With the exception of the sole male model who wore the same white jeans pants with various shirts, and a leather jacket, the line between trashy lingerie, swimwear and sportswear was blurred or was that because of the absence of adequate lighting?

In any case, not much of the outfits could be seen in the dark and the quality of the workmanship could not be adequately assessed. The colours of the outfits were not quite evident, unless they were black, neither could the various fabrics be determined. However, a fur (or faux fur) bikini stood out, but the model did not do a good job of wearing it. She spent less than 10 seconds inside the booth set up for the peep show.

The few persons present stayed after the fashion show for the food, which was a part of the $500 cover charge for the party.

Rice and peas, fried chicken, fish and shrimp were served, along with blended drinks such as daiquiris and brown cow all alcoholic. Perhaps if the guests got drunk they would pretend to enjoy themselves. The food, with the exception of the fish, was not particularly delicious.
