Thalia Lyn is new Consul General to Thailand

SUNDAY AFTERNOON, December 7, saw friends of Michael and Thalia Lyn, making their way to her Stony Hill residence to celebrate her latest achievement - Consul General to Thailand.

The perfectly chilled glasses of Beaujolais Noveau were just the right antidote for the cooler than normal temperatures that had even male guests resorting to their leather and suede jackets.

The mood was festive and conversation centred around the economy, the upcomimg society weddings and the much anticipated return home for the holidays, of children who are studying overseas.

Blooming orchids were everywhere and the majestic Christmas tree and hand-made decorations elicited many compliments for admiring guests.

And as is customary, there was more than enough of the sumptuous buffet of fresh fruit, cold cuts, delectable escargots, mince pies and beverages. Cheer, good health and good stewardship, Thalia.
