THE EDITOR, Sir:
WHO DECIDES what is right and what is wrong? God decides that it is a fact that we all have the privileges to make choices; but it seems to me that many of us have forgotten that there are wrong choices and right choices. This standard of wrong and right choices is to be based upon God's standard.
If we are going to say that whatever choice a person makes is right, this will leave us in total confusion, which is what is happening now. When a person chooses to believe that "some affi dead, dat odas might live", is this a right choice to make? What about those that choose to export illicit drugs so that they may make a living? Isn't this their choice? Is it against the law of the land?
Well, is it not plain that there has to be a set standard for mankind to live by? What might be wrong in my opinion, might well be your choice. So who can really set the standard? The answer is "not us". It has to be God. He has already set a perfect standard for mankind. If we all follow one standard, the great problem of uncertainty concerning what is right or what is wrong will be solved. On the question of buggery, or more specifically, homosexuality, the Bible clearly tells us that God made us male and female. This is why a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:24; Mk. 10.6-8). When a woman turns to another woman, and a man turns to another man, the Bible calls it "vile", "unnatural" or "against nature", and "perversion" (Rom. 1:26-27).
The Bible also tells us in Lev. 18:22, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination". "Abomination" means that this act is displeasing to God. The Good News Bible puts it even plainer. It says: "No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that".
"Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." (Matt. 13:9).
