Joslin party a hit
published: Wednesday | December 24, 2003

By Daviot Kelly, Staff Reporter

BIG TEXAN Dennis Joslin (I mean in heart, not body) threw one of the parties of the season as his company added their own bit of Christmas.

Whether it was the food from the kitchens of the Terra Nova, the musical performances from the artistes or the rewarding of his loyal employees, but he and his staff came out smelling like roses.

By all indications, this year was even better than last year (I'll never know since I didn't have the pleasure last time). Rupert Bent and Friends were splendid but the real highlight came when songbird Cindy Breakspeare sauntered to the microphone. Oh, that I was older to really appreciate the songs I was hearing. Her mellow voice brought each note and each lyric across smoothly and clearly.

Jolly St. Joslin then gave awards to 'special Santas', five gleeful, and in a couple of cases, surprised employees from his company. Unlike some awards of a similar nature, he decided to give his employees gifts they could actually use: cash.

I may not be the brightest, but that sounds like a good idea to me. Awards were presented for their contributions to home and family, God and church benefits, community service, the office and for educational service.

So with a few of his loyal staff members going away with some well deserved 'green', it was party time and hmmm, let's see, who should be the one to lead it? Who else? Fab 5 of course. It was if the guests couldn't wait to get on the dance floor and the waiters couldn't move quickly enough to clear a little more space.
