Info on Terrorism Bill
published: Sunday | December 28, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

KINDLY ALLOW me to ask the Government, and more so my learned friend the Attorney-General of Jamaica the Hon. A.J. Nicholson, what time will the Government be informing us, the public of Jamaica, all the pros and cons of the Terrorism Bill proposed for our country Jamaica?

I must confess that the only source of information I have had up until this date has been a few writers in The Gleaner, Perkins Online, Senator Bruce Golding, Beth Aub, and Yvonne Sobers.

I heard the Prime Minister saying this Bill must be passed into law by March 3, 2004. I have personally gone to people who the Jamaican populace would believe are fully conversant with this Bill, only to be met with the answer, "I have not seen the Bill".

Mr. Editor, please let me know if this Bill will affect every citizen or is it only some Jamaicans who will be affected? Whichever way, please Mr. Attorney-General with nearly 100 days to go, please use some medium to let us know the facts.

I am, etc.,

LLOYD A. S. HENRY

St. Mary
