Playing the race card
published: Thursday | January 1, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

REGARDING THE letters concerning the colour of the grass on the other side. It would be a waste of energy to defend Canada when someone declares that an entire city or country is racist. As Canadians (with no real link to Jamaica), we have been doing all we can to improve the lives of Jamaican children for many years. Colour has no part in what we do.

I would respectfully suggest that those who play the race card for the dramatic effect get involved and understand that it is no picnic here in Canada or anywhere. The grass is not any greener on this side or that because we are all on the same side.

I am, etc.,
