Positivity in 2004
published: Saturday | January 3, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

AS A nation we have taken a bold step into the year 2004. I pray that this will be a year of positivity, in every sense of the word. The 'old' year has passed, so let us embrace this new year, with the love and compassion we are capable of displaying.

It is possible for those who exhibited callousness in 2003, to rise above the heartlessness and lack of respect they demonstrated toward their fellow men.

Let us all endeavour to act as positive role models for our young people, who are the future leaders of this country. For us to move forward as a nation, we have to emancipate ourselves from the aggression that threatens to consume us. We must bring back the love.

In this new year, let the words of Bob Marley's song, One love, One heart, ring out across Jamaica land we love, causing a spirit of unity among us.

I am, etc.,
