Gaddafi not a 'Saddam' or 'Slobodan'

THE EDITOR, Sir,
YOUR ARTICLE 'Saddam, Slobodan, Muammar' by Stephen Vasciannie, has the ingredients for continued scepticism between the West and East. His statement about Saddam and weapons of mass destruction MIGHT have been accepted by Bush Cheney and Powell, however, to date even the most advance technology of the United States has not been able to uncover any WMDs.
Another of his statements directed against Muammar Gadaffi should have been deep-ended. Gadaffi has raised the standard of living of his people to a level which no one could have imagined. Gadaffi once said that when he gained power of Libya residents had two camels, now they have two Toyotas.
Mr. Vasciannie would be better off seeking some methodology to raise the standard of living for Jamaicans (without the drug industry) and desist from trying to seek punishment for would-be reformists.
I am, etc.,
