Stunned by Malvo verdict
published: Thursday | January 8, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MY WIFE and I were stunned with intense grief, when we heard on the 7 o'clock news on Thursday, December 18, 2003, the announcement of the verdict handed down at the conclusion of Malvo's trial.

Lee Boyd Malvo did the act and the jurors rightly carried out their duties, so, the only thing that the world can do now to assist him is to pray and seek the judge's compassion of a judgement of life sentence.

He seems to have a reasonable IQ, but along the way, he was neglected and manipulated. You could now discern the remorse in his face, as he was being led away from the place of trial.

Parents, this is a lesson, children this is a lesson. Tears at this point in time is not the answer. May the good Lord enfold him as he awaits the final sanction.

I am, etc.,
