Reviewing licences

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to address the prescribed resolution in your letter by Victor Cummings (MP) 'Take back our country from the gun':

"Be It Further Resolved that all gun licences granted be revoked universally and re-issued only after reapplication and a systematic review of applicant".

Isn't it a requirement that all gun licences be renewed annually? Then why create added expenses by having to issue revoked notices when these licences can be reassessed at renewal time? Have the reviews done at renewals.
