MY DEARS, and the celebrities keep rolling in, and in, with celebrity sightings every which where from Negril Point, to Port Antonio! Naturally, the famous, the very wealthy and of course, the fabulous, all have a preference for the oh-so picturesque resort town of Port Antonio. Little wonder here, as indeed, this is the path less traversed by the Hamburger Tourists, and so provides a haven for the already jaded celeb a-dying for a little privacy!
Anyway me daahlings, last Saturday night, it reigned fabulousness in Port Antonio and then some, as a bevy of international personalities: from the catwalk; the music and recording industry; film and the monied, made the fabulous town their own and partied like there would be no tomorrow in an all night early morning slumber-free fest that was a peach and then some!
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Luvs, the buzz was that it was a celebration of life, fabulousness, music, people and friendship like no other. And when it was all over, not only was Port Antonio aglow in its wake, there was a clamouring from all over the globe for an immediate repeat of what was truly 'A Command Performance', by all involved, as it went from a 'cool-gathering' of celebs just hanging out and into a fully blown fabulous rampage!
And My Dears, it was a celeb-hit-parade and then some as among those painting the Town of Port Antonio Red, included: German Pop Diva Zoe; international singer Marianne Faithful; modelling sensation Kate Moss; famed British Hair-stylist Paul Windle; Reggae singer President Brown; plus several others all partying and dancing up a storm in fabulous Port Antonio, that saw them moving from the chic confines of their resplendent Villas and into the town itself where they crowned the night's proceedings with a visit to the celebrated Roof Club, that went way into Sunday morning.
Pumpkins, it was like that - Hot stuff and then some!
Then Dovecakes, it is the Age of the Capricorn you know as in the age of the Beautiful People, with among those celebrating their special day includes: the charming Dorothy Lee, of Linstead, who was surprised as hubby Roy Lee and their children treated her to a surprise dinner at the tres chic Jade Gardens restaurant, last weekend to mark the occasion. Her birthday was on Monday, however, as was that of the fabulous Louise Finnegan of Digicel, who opted for a weekend over in buzzing Negril, to mark the occasion.
Last Friday however, the fabulously glamorous Sari Gabay ratcheted the ante when she celebrated her Fortieth, with a party at her Norbrook home, that was a rather cosy and intimate affair, restricted to family members and very close friends. Come tomorrow however, the beautiful Sophia Leahong, will be celebrating her special day, as she too says goodbye to her girlish years for 'fabdom'. And doves, it will be one party to remember and then some as indeed the venue for this blow-out will be none other than the always-buzzing Octopussy Disco, at Hedonism III. My Dears, this one promises to be as fabulous as fabulous does.
CONGRATULATIONS IN ORDER
And speaking of the Age of Capricorn! My Dears, congratulations are definitely in order and are extended to businessman Chris Nakash and his lovely wife Zein Issa Nakash, on the birth of their son, Albert John Christopher Nakash, who arrived via the stork last Monday at a robust eight pounds one ounce in weight and some 20 inches in height!
Mother and child are simply fine and are at home resting, with grandparents Albert and Su Nakash and John and Aida Issa, all over the moon with the latest addition to their respective families.
Also celebrating the arrival of another grandchild is Prime Minister P. J. Patterson, his daughter Sharon Hibbert and hubby Horace Hibbert had daughter Breanna McKenzie Hibbert, who came via the stork in late 2003. And still speaking of things fabulous and fabulous people! My Dears, the rush is on and it's all about securing not only tickets but also accommodation over in Montego Bay for the annual Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, slated for the second city, come next Wednesday through to Sunday, as with a contingent of international recording and performing stars, promising to take to the stage over there at the Cinnamon Hill Golf course, in Rose Hall, and woo, thrill and excite the musical nerve-endings of the audience, the Second City, is indeed the only address in entertainment come next week!
And Sweet-things, with such hot acts like the hot Ms India Arie; and the super-hot Ms. Alicia Keyes; and the tried and tested artistry and showmanship of Kenny Rogers and the Queen of Ballads The Supreme Diva Nancy Wilson; as also the oh-so-very-talented Susanne Couch y'all know that not only Montego Bay, but Jamaica, will never be the same again!
'WORD IS'
Well, and my dears, the word is its going to be one almighty fabulous five day and night affair and then some as the producers are promising nothing but faultless professionalism and a memorable, historic even, show!
Then, the invitations are out for Michael and Thalia Lyn annual Chinese New year celebrations and Children, not only does it promise to be another of the Hot couple socially awe-inspiring Do, it is the 2004 official season opener to a year of fabulous partying!
But My Dears, you all have never seen anything like this as nothing cause 'old-friends or long lost acquaintances' to call you up with felicitations of goodwill and best wishes as news of a party! And so it was over the Christmas and New Year seasons, so it is now, at the beginning of the 2004 season!
