Under-13 Mini League starts today

THE SECOND annual Insports/Milo Under-13 Mini Basketball League starts today with an opening ceremony and dress parade at the Stadium courts beginning at noon.

Two-hundred and fifty students from 21 preparatory, primary and junior high schools will vie for the Clayton Solomon Shield in the three-week long competition.

In a league that is focused more on fun and development than bragging rights, boys and girls are allowed to play on the same team.

The teams will be divided into four zones and each game lasts 20 minutes.

Four new teams join the league this year; namely Windward Road Primary, Cockburn Gardens, Norman Gardens and Calabar Junior High.

Defending champions Holy Family Primary meet Mountain View in the opening game.

Other games on today are Mona Prep vs. Hillel Prep, Rousseau Primary vs. Whitfield Town Primary, Rollington Town Primary vs. Iris Gelly Primary, Cockburn Gardens Junior High vs. St. Peter Claver Primary, Covenant Prep vs. Mavisville Prep,Dupont Primary vs. Excelsior Primary and Jessie Ripoll vs. Mavisville Prep.
